The Autumn Garden: Exploring Watercolour. What We'll Do: Look at simple ways to use watercolour confidently Work from seasonal flowers, leaves, berries and seed heads Explore washes, colour mixing and different brush marks Experiment with shape, detail and looser ways of painting Develop one or more small watercolour studies to take home Who It's For: Beginners, people returning to watercolour, or anyone who would like to explore a looser, more experimental approach. No previous experience needed. Description: Using fading flowers, seed heads, leaves, berries and other finds from the autumn garden, we’ll explore colour, shape and mark-making in watercolour. We’ll try a range of simple watercolour techniques and ways of responding to natural forms, working from real botanical material gathered from the garden. There’ll be plenty of guidance and demonstrations, with time to experiment and develop your own paintings. This is a relaxed, practical workshop suitable for beginners as well as anyone who has used watercolour before and would like to try a fresh approach. All materials are provided, so you can simply come along and have a go.
